Welcome to the World Baby W / Columbus Ohio Baby Photographer

This sweet mama came in for a mommy and me session with the sweetest little bump. She hadn’t yet even thought of newborn photos but once we say how big brother was hugging and kissing her tummy - we both knew that a newborn session would be in the works. And I am SO happy she brought all her fellas in just a month or so later because big bro did NOT dissapoint!

Look how in love they all are!

I'm not quite sure where to start with this story.  I received a call from my dear friend who had a co-worker whose son was in NICU at a local hospital and wanted to know if I could travel there to take newborn photos of him.  I did and instantly fell head over heels for their sweet boy.  Mama sat by his side day after day and we discussed plans for a session in my studio once he was released from the hospital.  The second call I received was another session in the hospital as it looked as if their sweet boy would never make it home.  With my heart in my throat, I pulled into the parking lot at the hospital, said a prayer and unloaded my camera gear.  I had no idea how I would manage to keep it together for this session, but I knew that these portraits would be for a lifetime...so I took a deep breathe and headed upstairs.  They looked at their sweet boy so intently and held him so close while they whispered goodbyes.....My heart broke for them.
I will be forever grateful for them sharing their sweet boy with me one last time and trusting me to capture it.  They gave me so much more in that day than I could have given them with photos.  I saw first hand what true love looks like.  I was able to see unconditional love within an arms reach...I saw the generosity of nurses and physicians whose job entails so much more than I ever realized.  And I was able to see the value of time.  I actually SAW time and what it meant.  You can't hold onto it but you can certainly live IN it.  That you can be fully present...so present that the whole room can feel it.  And it also helped my to realize that the tool in my hand really was the only way to make that day stand still for them.  Again, them trusting me with that means more to me than they will ever realize.

Fast forward to an Instagram scroll many months later and I see that this amazing, resilient couple is expecting again!  I cried happy tears!  I am in awe of the strength and love these two share.  And sweet little baby M.  Their ray of sunshine after a storm that left them heartbroken.  She's so sweet and tiny and perfect.  I was so happy to incorporate some of her big brother's items into her shoot .... and I'm pretty sure she was happy to include him as well because just when I wrapped the teddy bear made from her brothers blanket around her....she gave the sweetest smile.

The moment this mama walked in for her Maternity Session, I knew it was going to be good.  The lovely ladies from The Beauty and the Blondes Salon in Canal Winchester (right down the street from my studio) ROCKED her hair and makeup and had her looking amazing.
Fast forward 4 weeks to the day her little girl FINALLY decided to make her debut!
A week past her due date, this little  peanut didn't want to leave her cozy little 9 month home!

Welcome to the world Baby P - you are so loved......

This little guy just turned one!
It's one of the best "perks" of the job!
No, not the leftover smash cake (although that's a pretty good one too...lol!)
But watching these tiny little babies grow into these full-of-personality 12month olds!

Happy Birthday Landon!

After many storms...comes the rainbow.  This little guy was hoped and wished for and I'm so honored to be able to capture these memories for this family.

They've waited so long to hold their sweet boy in their arms.

This sweet little girl was a dreamboat for her newborn session!  I think that her family images might be some of my most favorite ever!  She already has daddy wrapped around her finger.  He couldn't get enough of little Charlotte and her mama.
I am so blessed to be able to share in these special moments with so many families!

I love it when newbies come to the studio flaunting a full head of hair.  And this lady did NOT disappoint!  She was so pretty and so sleepy (once we got her to sleep...).  I also need to mention how amazing mama looks.  Right?  I am so happy that these two ladies spent an afternoon with me.  And I'm kind of loving the blanket and bow mama brought along
(see first pic...)

Momma and I bonded right away.  Sitting in my tiny loft turned newborn studio on the second floor of my home.  She had twins...I had twins.  We both understood the chaos and delicate balancing act of caring for two newborns at the same time.  I recognized the bags under her eyes and remembered all too well the days I longed for more than two hours of sleep at a time.  Fast forward to  my next photo studio.  A small pink building nestled in downtown Canal Winchester.  Two toddlers and now a third baby boy.  Glowing but also overwhelmed, this mama gracefully cared for her three boys.  It was great to reconnect.  Now we both had three boys and shared "war" stories of being a mom to all boys.  Another couple of years, she enters my much larger studio and it's a good thing I decided to "upgrade".  In walk two little men.  Dressed to kill.  Then comes another one.  Dressed just like the other two and finally in walks dad carrying a new baby. A fourth boy.  And their family is complete.  It's so great to see the smiles on their faces.  These five guys are so lucky.  This mama bear is so strong and loving.  I'm honored to be a part of their story......

One of my favorite things about being a newborn photographer is being able to capture all of the milestones of baby's first year.  When clients first walk in with their tiny babe tucked into the carseat, it's so fun to pull back the blanket and see this precious little angel all nestled in.  The carseat is 10 times their size.  When they walk back into the studio just six short months later it's the biggest transformation in the world.  They pull back the blanket and there is the same baby but now their feet go all the way to the edge of the carseat.
They have a head full of hair, a toothy grin and are full of personality.

Capturing Baby's First Year is so special!

I'm so fortunate to have such amazing clients.  I've had the privilege of photographing this sweet family for all of their newborn sessions.  This little sweetheart makes baby number THREE for them (truth be told, I hope they have 6 or 7 babies because they make the cutest kiddos around!).  This session proved to be a bit of a challenge with a 2 yr old and 1 year old "big" brother and sister.  We manage to get everyone settled though and as you can see, baby sis was able to catch a few zzzz's in the midst of the chaos.

Be still my heart with this smiley little dude.  I hadn't seen him since his newborn session so I was blown away when I saw how big he had gotten.  He was all smiles and didn't mind our countless outfit changes since we promised him cake when it was all done!  lol!

I snuck in a few flashback photos at the end of his maternity and newborn session....I love a good before/after don't you!?
